The forwarding and performance tests verify the operation of the WR Switch in terms of:

  • handles the Ethernet traffic correctly in terms of unicast and broadcast forwarding with and without VLANs
  • forwarding latency and frame losses for different frame sizes and traffic loads.

Basic information

  • The tests are described in sections 2-3 of the White Rabbit Switch pre-release tests (sources).

  • The tests are performed using Xena hardware and software.

  • The semi-automated execution of the tests according to the White Rabbit Switch pre-release tests is described in Running pre-release tests document (sources). All necessary scripts is provided in the repository, folder xena-tester.
