## Usage of the switch

### Q: When connecting the GPS-PPS or the 10 MHz GPS clock to the WhiteRabbit Switch, do I have to change/configure anything?
A: It's really easy:
1. Skip points 2-4 if there is no TAI/UTC needed (only frequency/PPS
reference)
2. Configure your GPS receiver to send GPRMC messages every second to
its' serial port
3. Configure the serial port in the GPS to 115200 kbps, 8N1 and connect
it to the switch (you may need a null-modem cable)
4. Uncomment the line "use\_nmea = 1" in /wr/etc/wrsw\_hal.conf in the
switch
5. Connect PPS and 10 MHz to the appropriate inputs of the switch
6. Change mode parameter in timing section in /wr/etc/wrsw\_hal.conf to
"GrandMaster"
7. Reboot the switch.
