- 200nm-400nm (UVB only?)
- used on UV Ultraviolet Radiation Ray Detection Sensor Module
- Silicon Labs Si1133 UV Index and Ambient Light Sensor IC with I2C Interface
Likely not suitable
- Silicon Labs Si1145/46/47 Proximity/UV/Ambient light sensor with

interface
- Typically, after 285 μs, AUX_DATA will contain a 16-bit value representing 100 times the sunlight UV Index.
- Used in SILICON LABS development kit SLSTK3201A (Farnell CARTE DE DEV EFM32ZG222F32)
- It does not contain a UV photodiode, so it seems to be inferring
the UV index from a combination of visible and IR.
Likely it takes some ratio of visible to IR and infers the solar index assuming a standard sunlight spectrum and some calibration coefficients.- Page 2, Figure 1: visible and IR photodiode sensor. So no UV sensor.
- Page 63, Figure 20: Photodiode Centers shows "Small IR photodiode and visible photodiode" (stacked) and "Large IR photodiode". So no UV sensor.

Note*
- Arduino UV sensors have typically a resolution of 1 UV factor i.e. 0.1 MED/hr, so cannot be used.

Watch projects
Ideas for building an UV-meter can come from other Watch projects:
Other basic kits that may help developing a UV-meter:
-
TI
Sensortag
- Devpack-watch - display only
- Advantage that you can remotely upgrade over Bluetooth and very low power consumption (handy if we want to integrate the same design in the helmet or so and connect to a phone for logging).
UV meters
Fans
- PulseJets - very flat, innovative heatsinks and fans using oscillating diaphragms
