Pts bootloader update

Updating the SVEC bootloader in the PTS to Version 2

Note:* this only concerns the manufacturers of the SVEC boards. Ordinary users can update the bootloader by following the instructions in the SVEC Gateware Manual.

To benefit from the new features of V2.0 gateware, the SVEC Production Test System must be modified to flash the new version of the bootloader. The update procedure goes as follows:

  • Download the PTS patch. The patch contains the new bootloader bitstream as well as some important fixes to the PTS software that are necessary to work with the new bootloader.
  • Put the archive in the /home/pts directory on the SVEC PTS laptop (e.g. through an USB drive).
  • Unpack the archive by running the following command: tar xzf svec-pts-update-v2014.04.tar.gz
  • Run the PTS on a card that is known to work to check if everything is OK.
