The Open Hardware Repository is a place on the web for electronics designers to collaborate on open hardware designs, much in the philosophy of the free software movement.

  • If you are an OHWR user, see the User-guide.
  • If you are a project administrator or want to start your own project, see the Administrator-guide for OHWR.

Please note that you only need to register and request membership for a project if you need write access on the wiki and repositories. Read access is universal. You will not be able to access more material by registering. If you still think you need an OHR account, please contact Javier.Serrano (insert a "@" here) cern.ch first.

Also, subscribing to the Discourse forums is independent from OHR membership.

The guides above should cover most of the questions you might have when using the OHWR site. You can also browse the GitLab documentation for a more general guidance.

If you need further assistance, or detect a problem with the site, please open a support ticket.

You can also read about our Manifesto.

The 2019 migration to Gitlab

There is a FAQ on the migration of OHWR to the Gitlab+Discourse platform can be found.

After the migration to GitLab in early 2019, reviewers of project integrity have been assigned. For ease of reference, these reviewers can check the instructions in the collective review page
