# WP9 Radiation tests on the nanoFIP chip
|

## Description

|

|
The **work package 9 includes** the
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- radiation resistance test of the nanoFIP chip in stand-alone and
|
|
|
|
memory mode.
|
|
|
|
Three radiation test campaigns have been planed using the [NFTC
|
|
|
|
board](www.ohwr.org/project/nanofip-test-board) with a focused beam:
|
|
|
|
- Preliminary radiation tests for the validation of the **testing
|
|
|
|
setup** and for a first understanding of the failure modes of
|
|
|
|
the nanoFIP, FielDrive and FieldTR chips.
|
|
|
|
- Large scale tests of 10 nanoFIP chips for the estimation of
|
|
|
|
nanoFIP's **cross section**
|
|
|
|
- Extra tests of the **nanoFIP, FielDrive and FieldTR
|
|
|
|
simultaneously**; Study of the **effects of high temperature**
|
|
|
|
while irradiating
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Note that the NFTC board is not designed to be radiation tolerant;
|
|
|
|
therefore only a focused beam can be used to irradiate the nanoFIP chip
|
|
|
|
and/or the FielDrive and FieldTR components.
