A VME host, normally, is inserted in a VME crate, and it server as a VME
Master in the bus. In order to communicate with the card, you will need
the kernel driver and Etherbone library (for VME to be developed).
The PCI-VME bridge, tsi148, requires a driver that is not part of the
vanilla kernel. It has been developed at cern and there have been
efforts to integrate it into vanilla. It is not merged into 2.6.33.
