Buttons
The final solution to the buttons was to 3D-print them. The 3D FreeCAD model can be found in the repo (here).
Before deciding to 3D-print the buttons, many different solutions and ideas were considered of how to make buttons for the watch. Below, the considered ideas are listed and useful links can be found.

We could probably do without tubes, just with the buttons, but it is very expensive, not to mention we would need to use different sizes of buttons... alternative solutions below.
