Some preliminary thoughts on an agenda for the Open Hardware Workshop
This workshop would be held during the weekend preceding ICALEPCS 2011, i.e. Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October 2011 in Grenoble, France.
Day 1
Morning
- Intro (Javier).
- Maybe a guest speaker from Arduino?
- Business models (one or more talks from companies, Creotech, Seven Solutions?).
- Legal (one or more talks from lawyers, Myriam?).
Afternoon
- PCB design tools (one or more talks, gEDA, Kicad, Larry?). Maybe also a talk on what the perfect tool would be (Tomek).
- HDL simulation tools (one or more talks, Steve Williams, Pawel, Larry/Carlos?).
- Opencores talk?
- Linux integration (Alessandro?).
Day 2
Morning
- Technologies: several talks on open standards people can use to make sharing easier: FMC (Erik), Wishbone (Tomek), Ethernet...
Afternoon
- Examples:
- Rhino (Alan Langman).
- SPEC (Matthieu).
- Soleil, BNL, GSI, LBNL?
