The SVEC card can be used in many ways. If you use the cards, please inform me about it.

    • BE/BI - Beam Instrumentation
      • “The CERN Beam Instrumentation group, together with physicists from the protoDUNE collaboration, is investigating a sub nanosecond time-of-flight system based on scintillating fibres read-out with fast PMT. The SVEC FMC-TDC has been chosen as it has the required timing performance and it integrates White Rabbit, which is required to timestamp the events in a common time reference shared by the beam instrumentation and the protoDUNE detectors.” (Feb 2017, I.Ortega)

      • OASIS - Open Analogue Signal Information System used for the acquisition and display of analogue signals in the accelerator domain.

      • PSB RF interlock interface
        • Through the VME-Interlock-RTM and the SVEC, status signals from the RF power, RF low-level and the Linac 4 Interlock systems are collected. The information are elaborated to determine what ring(s) of the PSB should be inhibited. (BE/RF, S.Zorzetti, A.Blas, August 2013)
      • Reception of the B-train information in the PS, as well as calculation and distribution of the revolution frequency to the longitudinal beam control system. Uses differential driver card FMC-DTX-4CHA. (BE-RF, M. Sundal, Oct.2013).

      • SVEC Static Var Compensator – used to measure parameters in each SVC at CERN, when it is triggered it freezes a buffer and allows a reconstruction of the events leading to an SVC trip.
        • Measurements on power system with 64 channel, 128 KS/s, 16-bit ADC on Rear Transition Module, EDA-02379 VmeAdc128K16b64cha (TE/EPC/CCE, O.Michels) - 12 installed (Finished 10/2014)
      • SVEC PS Powering – using white rabbit to receive the B-Field measurement, to replace the aging B-Train system in the POPS. It will also allow us to send Imeas and other things (TE/EPC-CCE, installed in 2014)
      • SVEC SPS Measurement and Acquisition Module – used to measure regulation parameters in the SPS mains powering system. (TE/EPC/CCE, A.Vilar Villanueva)
