ERROR with the COMe-bBD6
To prepare the prototype tests of PXIeCOMe I performed several preparations.
I used a Kontron COMe Eval Carrier T6, a Nvidia graphics card in the PCIe GRAPHICS slot, and the COMe-BD6 to change the BIOS of the COMe-bBD6 to BBD6R210_2x4.bin and changed the IOU1 settings to ‘x4x4x4x4’ and the IOU2 to ‘x4x4’. When rebooting without the Nvidia graphics card, I can use COM1 (serial console redirection ) to display the BIOS. When rebooting with the Nvidia graphics card everything can also be observed via the Displayport. In both situations a SATA HDD is used to run CentOS 8 Linux which can also be controlled via remote desktop, as the COMe-bBD6 lacks graphics. This CentOS 8 Linux installation has been created some weeks ago using the Kontron COMe Eval Carrier T6 and a COMe-cKL6 with a display attached to one of the Displayport interfaces. So this all works fine for the COMe-cKL6 and COMe-bBD6.
Now I installed the COMe-cKL6 onto our the PXIeCOMe and used the Displayport interface, USB-ports and Ethernet interface to install CentOS 8 Linux on a new mSATA SSD. Every interface works fine, and the Linux desktop can be controlled using USB keyboard and mouse, seen on the display, or remotely controlled using remote desktop.
For the PXIe backplane 4 link configuration we need x4x4 PCIe and x4x4x4x4 (or x8x4x4) on the PEG interfaces of the COM Express module, so the COMe-cKL6 can’t be used to test the PCIe interfaces to the backplane. So I replaced the COMe-cKL6 for the COMe-bBD6. When booting for the first time the COMe module starts the power-supply three times and after this continues the boot process. (This three times restart, I have also seen on the Kontron COMe Eval Carrier T6 with the COMe-bBD6 when booting for the first time.) The boot process continues and error messages are displayed on COM1 (serial console redirection):
ERROR: Class:3000000; Subclass:60000; Operation: A
ERROR: Class:3000000; Subclass:50000; Operation: D
When resetting the carrier it reports only:
ERROR: Class:3000000; Subclass:50000; Operation: D
