Filter Prototype Board

Project description

This Filter Prototype Board is developed within the multi channel time interval counter and fine delay generator (Time Box) framework.

As explained in the ADC board wiki our goal is to determine the time of arrival of one incoming electric pulse.

In order to do that, we plan to transform the pulse's rising edge in an "easier to observe" event. Indeed, if the pulse occurs between two sampling moments, it is impossible to determine when it has occurred with an higher precision than the sampling sampling period. The precision can then be increased by transforming the rising edge of the pulse into a damped sinewave which lasts several sampling periods and can be reconstructed. By using mathematical interpolations, it is then possible to determine when the rising edge did occur within the sampling period.
