FMC ADC 125M 14B 1CH DAC 600M 14B 1CH
Project description
This project concerns the development of an ADC/DAC card in FMC (VITA 57) format. The first intended application is the sampling and re-generation of RF signals in a White Rabbit network, as specified in the WR-DRF project.
Functional Specifications
- Single 14-bit 125 MSPS ADC with AC coupled 2.25 Vpp 50 Ohm input
- Single 14-bit 600 MSPS DAC with AC coupled 2 Vpp 50 Ohm Output
- Independent low jitter VCXO clocks for ADC and DAC!
- Bidirectional DC coupled Trigger/Clock connects to carrier board
- The primary objective of this board is to serve as a hardware
platform
to perform proof-of-concept tests for the distribution of RF signals
using a White Rabbit network. Other possible applications include
sampling and generation of arbitrary AC-coupled analog signals, or a
combination thereof, such as that used for Low Level RF control systems.

21-10-2012 | PCBs received, start of assembly. Expected to be done within 3 days |
06-10-2012 | Assembled boards received with delay caused by wrong package of the ICs. Board was powered and no smoke observed so far. |
20-02-2013 | First, correct and aligned samples from ADC received. DAC also works correctly. Octave tools with access to the ADC data were build. Signal quality measurement is in progress. |
