This page contains ideas that can be included into the PTS
eMMC
-
enhanced mode
- eMMC supports the enhanced mode. In short it emulates SLC-like flash-type in MLC flash-type. It reduces number of information being stored in one flash cell. As consequence this reduces the available storage space by half. On the other hand, only part of the eMMC can work in enhanced mode. -
write complete
- Write reliability is a configuration that affects what happens to data during an unexpected power-cut. When it is enabled, write operations are atomic at the eMMC level and after an unexpected power-cut data is either old or new, but never undefined. -
eMMC boot area
with partitionsRPMB
,boot0
,boot1
- extra space on eMMC that can be used to store e.g. ssh-keys (RPMB
) NOTE: bear in mind that above settings are possible only once in eMMC life-time. More info https://developer.toradex.com/knowledge-base/emmc-linux - formatting eMMC - it looks like u-boot does not support creation of the DOS partition table, so probably it has to be done in PTS form Linux
